Assallamalaikum. The post really echos how I feel. I actually stumbled across your blog (and you and Crescent Int'l..) while searching to make a central resource page for what I have been doing for the last 4.5 years without knowing you or all the other people you mention!

Which brings me to the other point - would you be so kind as to - if you can ever spare the time, review my book?

Assalamu alaikum brother Iqbal.

It appears that we are back in the doldrums of
rebuilding an intellectual revolution. The ummah is sadly trying to stay alive and probably 15%can read and write.
A possible way forward is to look at the visual media and drama as a rapid means of changing perceptions.
Your point about establishing instituitions is correct but who will assist us.
wassalam.

Sallamualikoum!

I agree with you, yet when my mind and its eyes reached the end of your article I was bummed out; truly, you are the Sceptical Islamist (at least in one sense).

You are one of the writers that made the world much more clear to me as a young wanna-be Muslim.

Sometimes I wonder, as someone who has the means to attend a graduate program in the US, I ask myself what skills/title I should attain for the benefit of this Ummah. I thought for a minute that I should pursue a career as a psychiatrist and help rehabilitate presidents and capitalists, anarchists and wanna-be Islamists by combining the profession's skills with the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah.

I thought about other things as well but I will save you and the readers the foam.

Allah is ONE!
Sallamualikom

Muslim A. Mahmood

May Allah(swt) make us amongst those who recognize its importance and potential, and make our way easy for us. Amin.
